Luke is 7 months old and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Starting about 2 weeks before diagnosis, his eating plummeted, he was vomiting and had diarrhea. After 3 urgent care visits and no progress, his mom and dad called to get his pediatrician to squeeze him in. The next morning, Luke saw the doctor and he immediately knew something was wrong. The X-ray showed his liver and spleen were enlarged and the blood tests came back showing his white blood cell count was over 600,000. His hemoglobin levels and platelets were dangerously low. As soon as the blood results were in a few hours later, his pediatrician informed them it was consistent with Leukemia and sent them straight to Texas Childrenā€™s Hospital for proper care. A short 2 hours later, it was confirmed that Luke had Leukemia. A minimum 5 weeks in the hospital for surgeries, blood transfusions and chemo treatments, and then prayerfully Luke will be able to go home to his big sister, 4 year old Olivia. He will then have 2-2 1/2 years of out patient treatment, follow ups and maintenance. Thank you for your prayers and support during this time. If youā€™d like to follow Lukeā€™s journey, please feel free to join his group on Facebook for updates. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1246087092217377/
